Typically you will need EKAER (Electronic Road Transportation Control System) registration if the following transactions you make are associated with road transport by qualified road vehicles:
Failure to comply with EKAER reporting regulations may result in penalty of up to 40 percent of the transported goods and authorities have the power to cease goods if the transport is unreported. You may be required to place an EKAER deposit before you start reporting EKAER.
To reduce your risk of up to 40 percent EKAER penalty, RSM Hungary can help you to determine your obligation to register for EKAER in Hungary and register you for EKAER once your VAT number is ready. We can also map your transactions from EKAER point of view (EKAER mapping).
If you are a foreign company, you will need VAT registration to register for EKAER. This means you cannot skip VAT registration and opt only for EKAER registration.
We can also provide EKAER training or EKAER consultation tailored to your needs, during the course of which we discuss your transactions, identity obligations, risks and opportunities.
