Production accounting is a complex service offered to production companies, film studios and foreign and Hungarian investors involved in filmmaking. The production accountant keeps the film production's books based on the budget prepared by and the accounting of the Filmmaker.

Production accounting requires not only knowledge of the accounting programs most commonly used by international filmmakers (e.g. Vista, Moneypenny, GreenSlate) but also that of the Hungarian regulatory environment. The production accountant prepares the reports and statements agreed with the filmmaker in compliance with the requirements relating to the indirect state film tax rebate and financing plan. In order to apply for and drawdown, the Hungarian indirect film tax rebate the production accountant provides the required statements to the National Film Office.
